The Person Behind this Project

My name is Alicia Domínguez, and I am the creator of The Gothic Descent.

​

I am an English philologist with a Master in Jungian psychology, writer, content creator, and researcher of all things Gothic and depth psychology.

​

This project began in 2005 as a simple webpage dedicated to Gothic literature and ghost stories. At the time, I was just starting my degree and discovered that, alongside my love for communication and the English language, my true passion lay in exploring the dungeons of the human mind.

​

Life, like any Gothic tale, has led me through the shadowed corridors of loss, transformation, and the ever-present dance between life and death. These experiences have deepened my connection to the Gothic and its ability to illuminate profound psychological truths.

​

Through The Gothic Descent, I guide others who, like me, seek meaning in the darkness, using stories as mirrors to navigate their own depths.
